OBITUARY

ALBERT J. FRITZ

Albert J. FRITZ, 52 years old (sic - 54), of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Saturday, April 18, 1942, in the hospital at Kansas City, Kan., where he had been a patient for a few weeks. He had been in failing health since last winter.

He was born in Jefferson county on a farm near East Pleasant Plain on August 23, 1890 (sic - July 23, 1887) to Mr. and Mrs. John FRITZ, who preceded him in death over 18 and 19 years ago.

He was engaged in farming until about 25 years ago, when he left for St. Cloud, Minnesota and from there to Excelsior Springs, Mo., where he spent the last 12 years of his life.

He leaves to mourn his five brothers, Peter, Leo, Vincent, Matthew and Michael, and two sisters, Mrs. August PEIFFER, all of this vicinity, and Christine FRITZ of Ottumwa, Ia.

The body was brought to Hoskins funeral home Saturday night, then taken to the home of his brother Leo Sunday afternoon, awaiting funeral services which were held Monday, April 20, at 9:30 at St. Joseph's church, East Pleasant Plain; Rev. J. H. Courtney of Ottumwa, former pastor, officiating and preaching the sermon.

Requiem high mass was sung by Rev. P. Wetzstein, pastor, and Rev. R. Pacha of Mt. Madison (sic - Ft. Madison?).

Six nephews were pallbearers: Alfred J. FRITZ, Clifford J. FRITZ, Leonard FRITZ, Ralph PEIFFER, Maynard FRITZ and Robert FRITZ.

Burial was in an adjoining cemetery.

He will be greatly missed by relatives and many friends; gone but not forgotten.
