Daniel Leon BOOS, 73, of Agency, died at 7:20 a.m. May 25, 2018 at his home. He was born November 1, 1944 in Ottumwa to Chester and Natalie HYDE McKIM. His parents divorced and Dan was adopted by Roger BOOS in 1951. He married Doris Jean NEWLAND on October 11, 1968.

A 1963 graduate of Cardinal Community High School, he attended the Iowa Success School in Ottumwa. He lived in the Agency area all of his life. Surviving are his wife, Doris; a son, Jason (Tonya) BOOS of Runnells; grandchildren, Jaisa Lynn BOOS, Jacobe Edward BOOS, Jeremy NEWLAND, Alex NEWLAND, Zach NEWLAND, Megan NEWLAND, Taylor HARTWIG; daughter-in-law, Linae HARTWIG; a brother, Thomas (Jerie) BOOS of Agency; his uncle, Merle (Gladys) BOOS of West Bend, WI; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and loyal companion, Sophie.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Agency United Methodist Church with Rev. Kelly Peavey officiating. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous.
