Death of John HAGGERTY

Saturday morning last at half past nine o'clock occurred the death of John HAGGERTY, who had been a resident of this city for many years. Mr. HAGGERTY's health had been very poorly for two or three years, and the past year he had failed rapidly. He was born in county Clare, Ireland, about 1820; was married there to Bridget KELLY, and came to this country alone in 1856. After stopping for a time in the state of New York and afterwards in Ohio, he came to this city and here lived ever since. In 1869 his wife and daughter, now Mrs. Ann HAYS, came from Ireland and joined Mr. HAGGERTY here. He was the father of five children, but four of them died in the old country. His wife died here in May, 1873. The funeral of Mr. HAGGERTY took place from the Catholic church Sunday afternoon at two o'clock.
