Robert E. Palm was born near Lockridge, Jefferson County, Iowa, August 9, 1863, and died February 14, 1917. While yet a boy, he came to Colorado, and for some time attended school at Castle Rock. Later he was employed in his brother's store here, was employed as fireman on the Rio Grande railroad, and finally took up a homestead in Sellers Gulch, and became a farmer. He was married on Thanksgiving day in 1892, to Miss Anna Misner, of Lake Gulch, and they resided on their farm the greater part of their married life. He served as County Judge of Douglas County for about fourteen years. In 1911 he rented his farm and went with his wife to Hot Sulphur Springs for the benefit of her health. While there he took up newspaper work, editing the Middle Park Times. After her death, which occurred in November, 1915, he sold out his interests there, and returned to Castle Rock to make his home. He was made president of the First National Bank a number of years ago, holding that office up to the time of his death.

Funeral services were held at the Misner home Tuesday. Rev. Ragatz preaching the sermon. The Masonic lodge, of which he had been a member for many years, had charge of the services at the grave.
