Marian STORY age 90, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Jefferson County Health Center.

MARIAN HELENE STORY
Fairfield

Marian Helene STORY, age 90 of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Jefferson County Health Center. Visitation for family & friends will be 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Behner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30 am, Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Behner Funeral Home with Chaplin Don Combs officiating. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Hospice Compassus of Washington. Cards and memorials can be mailed to: 2270 Marigold Blvd., Fairfield, Iowa 52556. Marian was born February 6, 1928, to Roy and Mabel (BRAY) HAMMOND in Postville, Iowa. She married Keith Eugene STORY on June 29, 1947, in Fort Madison, IA. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before he passed away February 26, 2000, in Crossville, TN. To this marriage was born Jeanie, Jane and Jerry.

Marian graduated from Postville, IA in 1946. While she lived in Tennessee she worked 10 years in the nursery at the Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching the children, especially babies. Kenneth and Marian started square dancing in 1963 and she continued attending until she became ill. The Fairfield Square Dancers were her extended family. Marian was proud to be a stay at home mom.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting. Marian will be missed by those who called her mom, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend.

Left to share Marian's memories are her children, Jeanie LUDEKING of Knoxville, TN, Jane (John) KURT of Remer, MN and Jerry (Kristine) STORY of Navarre, FL and Jacob (Som) STORY of Fairfield, IA; and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mabel; her husband, Kenneth; and 4 brothers, Marvin, Milo, Merle and Milton HAMMOND.
