Betty E. Winn, 77, of Newton and formerly of Ollie, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at USA Health Care in Newton.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Ollie Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Ollie Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Fremont Funeral Chapel.

Memorials can be made in her name to the family for USA Health Care of Newton Alzheimer's Unit.

Mrs. Winn was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Dahlonega, the daughter of Thomas and Della Mae Denny. She married Merlyn A. Winn June 21, 1956, in Ottumwa. He died Aug. 16, 1996.

She and her husband operated Angel's Aviation at the Ottumwa airport for almost 20 years until 1968 when they moved to Ollie where she was a homemaker. The couple then relocated to Knoxville where they managed the Knoxville airport for 17 years until they retired in 1993 and returned to Ollie. She was a resident at USA Health Care in Newton for the past eight years.

Mrs. Winn was a member of the Ollie Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Steven Winn and wife Diana of Knoxville; one daughter, Irene Meyer and husband Stephen of Ankeny; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
