JOHN F MINEART

John F. MINEART, 73, of Fairfield, IA passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at his home. As were his wishes his body has been cremated. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield with Father Nick Adam officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following the Mass, with burial to be at a later date. Memorial contributions in John's honor may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church. John F. MINEART was born October 22, 1944 in Jefferson County, IA to Charles and Ethel PECK MINEART. He grew up in the Brookville-Fairfield area and attended Fairfield High School, graduating with the class of 1963. John married Crystal TURNER and they became the parents of two children, John and Melodee. John worked for himself throughoug his life doing several different craftsman jobs. He later married Norma TAYLOR and they remained close for the remainder of his life. John enjoyed junking, painting, woodworking, building furniture, and watching his grandchildren in sports. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield.

John was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David MINEART and a nephew Brock MINEART.

Left to share his story are his children, John (Laura) MINEART of Fairfield and Melodee (Randy) STATON of Douds, IA; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn MINEART, Jacob MINEART, Madison MINEART, Austin STATON, Jordan STATON, as well as four great grandchildren; seven siblings, Richard (Margie) MINEART, Delores (Fred) JOHNSON, Marie (Al) BREESE, Donald (Jackie) MINEART, Dale (Denise) MINEART, Patricia (Rodney) LEISTIKOW, and Kenny (Jodi) MINEART; three stepchildren, Tate RILEY, Cherity WIBBEN, and Jesiah RILEY, as well as many extended family and friends.
