Mrs. Sarah Sinn, widow of Andrew Sinn, one of the early residents of the Germanville community, died last Sat. afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lewis Lamansky. Sarah Gutcher, born Feb 4 1834 in Bedford Co., Penn. Her parents moved to Ohio in 1836 where they lived until 1847 when the family moved to Walnut Twp., Jefferson County, Iowa. At age 16 she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Germanville. May 3 1853 she was married to Andrew Sinn; 7 children, two have preceded the mother in death. Husband died 1898. Survived by five children: Mrs. Sarah Hermann of Ottumwa; Mrs. Mary Pfeiffer; Mrs. Emma Fichtner; Mrs. Katie Lamansky and Benjamin Sinn all of Brighton; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Age 86-4-1. Bur. Germanville Lutheran Cem.
