In the Chariton Herald of the 16th ult. Is an announcement of the death of Samuel B. ST. JOHN at Des Moines. Early settler of Jefferson County and was married at Libertyville Dec 15 1853 (sic - 1852) to Miss Mary WILSON, sister of J. E. WILSON of this city. The wife died 23 years ago and of a family of seven children only two daughters survive the parents.

Note: By 1860 they had moved to Lucas County, Iowa. She died April 25, 1882.
