SALTS Funeral Will Be Tuesday

Last rites will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. for Ralph H. SALTS, retired factory employe, who died Saturday at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA). His death came at 7:30 p.m.

The services tomorrow will be held at the St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Cletus P. Madsen in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Prayers for a Christian Wake are to be recited at 8 p.m. tonight at the Raymond Funeral Home.

Ralph H. SALTS, 70, was born July 2, 1896, in Indiana. He was the son of James O. and Ella Jane HOLMES SALTS. He came to Iowa with his family when four years old and had lived in this community since. He was reared and educated in Jefferson County.

He was married May 3, 1917, to Eva FRANZ. The marriage took place in Fairfield. He was a core maker at the Iowa Malleable Iron Company for many years until his retirement. The family home is at 303 S. Court.

He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, he was a veteran of World War I, a member of the VFW and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Virginia, at home; also two brothers, Stanley and Forrest, both of Brookville. He was preceded in death by one son, Ralph, Jr.; three sisters and five brothers.
