MRS. R. MULKINS DIED TUESDAY
Well known local woman succumbs following lingering illness

Mrs. Ray E. MULKINS, 56, passed away at 5:45 o'clock last evening at the Jefferson County Hospital, following a lingering illness. Mrs. MULKINS was taken serious ill on May 28, 1940. On June 6, following she was taken to the Jefferson county hospital, on June 15 to the Iowa City Clinic. Following that she was returned to the Jefferson County Hospital, where she remained until her death.

The body was taken to the Hoskins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the English Lutheran Church, in charge of Rev. E. A. Piper. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Marie WORK MULKINS was born December 13, 1884, in Clinton the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. P. WORK. She was married in Clinton on August 14, 1907, to Ray E. MULKINS, and they came to Fairfield to make their home. Throughout her residence here she has been an active member of the English Lutheran church of this city.

Surviving are her husband, Ray E. MULKINS; one son, Franz LeRoy MULKINS, and one grandson, Gary Allen MULKINS. Two brothers also survive, William WORK of Chicago and Peter WORK of Clinton. She was preceded in death by two sons, Leonard Raymond and Kenneth Earl, and by one sister, Anna.
