JOHN *ROONEY, whose parents live near Whitfield, was killed by the cars near Mt. Pleasant last Wednesday. His foot caught in the frog at the switch. He died in a short time. He was an excellent young man, about twenty years old. His parents have the deep sympathy of the community in their affliction. The young man was buried here Thursday forenoon, services being held at the Catholic church.
