Ann M. WESTON

Ann M. WESTON, 78, of Lockridge died at 3:50 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2001, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City from injuries sustained in a car accident (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge, with the Rev. Jane S. Keel officiating. Burial will be in the Lockridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Raymond Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Augustana Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. WESTON was born Dec. 17 (sic - 7th per SSDI and stone inscription), 1922 in Gary, Ind., the daughter of John and Catherine CASTELICH. She married Frank E. WESTON June 8, 1946, in Gary. He died June 20, 1998.

She grew up in Gary, where she graduated from high school. She attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. She worked as secretary to the vice president of Iowa Wesleyan College for 10 years. She and her husband owned and operated Weston Burial Vault Company in Fairfield for a number of years.

Mrs. WESTON was an active member of First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge. She was a member of Fairfield Lionels, past president of Fairfield Women's Club and president of the Fairfield Women's Club Chorus, Farm Bureau, precinct committee person of the Republican Women, and a member of Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary. She also served for two years at Cluster 8, Southeastern Iowa Synod of the Women of ELCA and served the group as the first coordinator and as vice president.

Survivors include her two daughters, Vivian OZANNE and her husband Marq of West Haven, Conn., and Claudia GENKINGER and her husband John of Mount Pleasant; two sons, David WESTON and wife Car (sic - Carol?) of Dallas, Texas, and John WESTON and wife Vickie of Palm Desert, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, William CASTEL of Longmont, Colo.; and one sister, Louie WINCHESTER of Patagonia, Ariz.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
