Mrs. O. W. MONSON Succumbs At 91

Mrs. Oscar W. MONSON, 91, life-long resident of Jefferson county, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Nursing home after a week's serious illness.

Last rites will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of Dr. J. Henry Teele. Burial will be in Lockridge cemetery.

Mrs. MONSON was the former Mary Ellen HILLGREN. She was born Jan. 7, 1865 near Salina, the daughter of Charles and Louisa CARLSON HILGREN (sic). She was married to Oscar W. MONSON Jan. 2, 1889 at Salina.

Mr. and Mrs. MONSON made their home on a farm north of Parsonsville from 1890 to 1949. He preceded her in death March 18, 1952. Mrs. MONSON had been a resident of the nursing home for two years.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Lawrence JOHNSON, Mrs. Harper HILLMAN, Bessie MONSON, Mrs. Mahlon McCormick, Gilbert MONSON, Leonard MONSON and Earl MONSON, all of Fairfield and vicinity; Mrs. Linn CASE, Mt. Pleasant; and Harold MONSON, Santa Barbara, Calif.

Fourteen grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren also survive. One daughter and two sons preceded her in death.
