CHARLES L. HEATON

Charles L. HEATON of San Antonio, Texas, passed away at his home Dec. 30, according to word received here today. Miss Stella HEATON, of Fairfield, his sister was with him at the time of his death. She will return to Fairfield with the body Friday. Burial will be in Evergreen.

Funeral services will be held at the cemetery at 3 p.m. with Rev. W. F. Rex in charge.

CHAS. L. HEATON

Charles Lawrence HEATON was born in Fairfield, March 13, 1858, died in San Antonio, Texas, Dec. 30, 1936 age 78 years, 9 months 17 days.

His parents were Alfred and Elizabeth TULLIS HEATON, who came to Fairfield from Ohio about 1851. He spent his boyhood and early manhood in Fairfield, where he received his education in the public schools. After finishing school he learned the trade of painter under Isaac Rumer, with whom he worked. Later ill-health forced him to seek a warmer climate and he finally located about 40 years ago in San Antonio where he resided until his death.

Besides a number of nieces and nephews, he is survived by one sister, Estella HEATON of Fairfield, who was with him at the time of his death, and who accompanied his body to Fairfield.

Funeral services were held at the Hoskins Funeral Home in care of Rev. Rex, of the First Lutheran church, of which church Mr. HEATON was an attendant when in Fairfield.

The pallbearers, old friends of the family were Charles Mullenix, George Woods, William Wells, Bruce Ratcliffe, Jos. Hickenbottom and Ed White. Burial was in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery.
