MRS. F. C. COOK
Mary Olive, daughter of Edward and Mary CARMAN, was born near Mooretown, Ohio, June 14, 1843. Her father deciding to come West, they came to Iowa in 1846, entering upon one-half section of land three miles east of Agency. She resided there until the death of her father in 1875, when she went to Agency to live.
She was married to F. C. COOK in April 1881, and resided four miles east of Batavia until Mr. COOK's health failed, when they moved to Batavia where she continuously resided until a few years ago on account of failing health she went to Fairfield to relatives to be cared for. Her husband died in September 1909.
In the early years of Mrs. COOK's life, she belonged to the Free-Will Baptist church at Agency, and in later years her membership was with the Methodist church of Batavia.
Mrs. COOK leaves to mourn her departure two sisters, Lottie CARMAN and Emma HESTON, a step-daughter, Ada KRAMER, a sister-in-law, Clara CARMAN, and several nephews and nieces.
She passed away quietly and peacefully at the Jefferson County Hospital July 15, 1936, after a few days illness, at the age of 93 years, one month and one day.
