Kenneth Charles PEARSON

Kenneth Charles PEARSON, 64, Libertyville, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, in the Jefferson County Hospital emergency room.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating (note: in Van Buren Co., IA). Burial will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville. Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the family present from 7-8 p.m. Memorials to the Libertyville First Responders may be left at the funeral home.

Mr. PEARSON was born May 6, 1934, in the Mount Zion community southwest of Libertyville, the son of Glenn and Ellen TEDROW PEARSON. He married Connie ROBERTS Oct. 15, 1955, in Ottumwa. He attended Pleasant Plain rural school in Village Township, Van Buren County, and graduated from Douds High School in 1952.

Mr. PEARSON was employed by Raid Quarries south of Douds. He moved to Indianola for a short time then returned to Raid Quarries as operations manager and lived in Burlington, Bethany, Mo., and Biggsville, Ill. He retired in 198_ after working 27 years for Raid Quarries. He bought his grandparents' farm southwest of Libertyville in 1982.

Survivors include his wife; his parents of rural Libertyville; three brothers, Melvin PEARSON of Des Moines, Glenn Edward PEARSON of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Warren PEARSON of Libertyville; two sisters, Marjorie NAVIN of Des Moines, and Virginia HANKS of New London; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Raymond PEARSON, preceded him in death.
