Russell Edward FRISBIE, age 89, passed away on October 17, 2017 at home in the arms of his wife, Kathie with 32 years of marriage. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by the combined units of the V.F.W. Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Russell. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Russell is survived by his wife, Kathie FRISBIE; children, Debbie (Carl) YERINGTON of Muscatine, Kevin (Reanea) FRISBIE of Fairfield, Iowa, Steve (Melanie) FRISBIE of Jefferson City, Missouri, Brad (Lorianne) FRISBIE of Washington, Iowa, Brian (Holly) FRISBIE of Bucking Ham (sic), Iowa, LaVonna ARENA of Muscatine, Timothy TITUS of Muscatine, Dave TITUS of Ava, Missouri, Johnny and Elmer YOUNG of Muscatine; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Note: Lewis Funeral Home's website has a more detailed obituary online for Russell, which notes that he was born in 1928 in Versailles, Morgan Co., MO, the son of Ellis Cleveland and Matilda Ann (SANDERS) FRISBIE, the seventh of eight children. Russell served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a medic, and later joined the Navy as a steam engine tech. He was a crew member on board the first aircraft carrier to sail around the globe, the U.S.S. Valley Forge. It also notes that he was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Matilda; by children Ronald and Donald FRISBIE, and Paul TITUS; grandchild Buddy FRISBIE; siblings Raymond, Reuben, Kenneth, and Cleveland FRISBIE, Cloye HAGER, Cora BROWN, and Ruby STANTON, and field trial dogs that he enjoyed racing.
