HUGH SCANNELL RITES SATURDAY. HUGH A SCANNELL, 78, former Fairfield resident, died Tuesday at 9 p. m. at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. Most of his life was spent in Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant communities. Services will be held Saturday at 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Fairfield in charge of the REV. F. C. HENRICKSEN. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The Rosary will be recited Friday at 7:30 p. m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home. SCANNELL was born Feb. 1, 1887 at Fairfield, the son of F. G. and ABIGAIL CASEY SCANNELL. He never married. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of St. Mary’s church. Surviving is one brother, PAUL SCANNELL, Iowa City. Eight brothers and two sisters are deceased.
