Myrtle M. PAXTON, 83, of Packwood, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield Iowa. She was born August 27, 1933, in Ollie to William and Mary CAVIN SLOAN. She grew up in Ollie and attended Ollie schools. Myrtle married Clayborn PAXTON in Fairfield January 5, 1949. She worked at Universal Plastic Co. In Fairfield, Don Grimes Furniture & Supply store in Packwood and Fairfield Glove Factory for 18 years.

She is survived by her husband Clayborn of Packwood, one son, Kenneth PAXTON (Linda) of Ollie and one daughter Sandra DURFLINGER (Phil) of Agency, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Paul, Delmar, Joe, Charles, Jim, and Ron SLOAN and by three sisters Francis TRESLER, Dorothy PAXTON and Betty WONDERLICH.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday August 26, 2017, at Gould Funeral Home in Richland with Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery. Visitation with family will be an hour prior to the service beginning at 9:30 A.M at the funeral home. Memorials for the Packwood First Responders may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 31120 230th Avenue, Ollie, Iowa 52576.
