MICHAEL LEX NICHOLS 61, of Fort Madison died Wed.
Apr 26, 2017 at Hospice of Ottumwa IA.

Born June 30, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of Avin and Audrey GARMOE NICHOLS.

Mr. NICHOLS worked as an equipment operator/manager at Cessford Construction for 25 years. He grew up in Swedesburg. He graduated from Waco High School in l973. He attended Des
Moines Area Community College for 2 years. He was a buck skinner in his early years. He enjoyed antique tractors and steam engines and attending the annual steam engine shows in Mt. Pleasant and Shelbina Mo. He enjoyed being outdoors.

Survivors include one brother, Tom NICHOLS of Eldon, one sister Sarah NICHOLS of Bloomington-Normal IL and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one
sister. A graveside memorial service for Mr. NICHOLS will be l0:30 AM Saturday in Glasgow Cemetery in Jefferson County. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Ottumwa and Northeast Missouri Thresherman's Assn
