Amy 'Thelma' LITTLE

Amy "Thelma" Little, 86, of LaHarpe, Ill., and formerly of Brighton, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at her daughter's home in LaHarpe.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Gene Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton (note: in Washington Co., IA).

Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at the funeral home, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

A general memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. LITTLE was born June 17, 1918, in Brighton, the daughter of James and Ima Pearl RICH DAWSON. She married Clyde D. LITTLE Jan. 15, 1953, in Moline, Ill. He died in 1988.

She was a lifelong resident of the Brighton and Washington communities. After graduating from Brighton High School in 1936, she taught at Brighton Country School. She then was a homemaker and reared her children.

She attended Billy Graham Christian Writing School in Minneapolis, Minn., and was a charter member of the Writer's Round Table in Brighton.

Mrs. LITTLE was a member of First Church of God in Brighton.

She enjoyed crewel embroidery, reading and pets and followed NASCAR racing.

She lived in LaHarpe the past three months.

Survivors include five children, Virginia TAYLOR of LaHarpe, Ill., Gary KNIGHT and wife Barb of Loudon, Tenn., Sandra JONES of Washington, Terry "Speedy" KNIGHT of Washington and Toni BARNES and husband Tim of Keota; daughter-in-law Sandy KNIGHT of Washington; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry KNIGHT; and one sister, Leora GLENN.
