Bill RUCKMAN

William "Bill" RUCKMAN, 86, of Ottumwa, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at his home.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Mel Kendall officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Memories Mausoleum in Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

Visitation, with family present, will be one hour prior to the service Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties.

Mr. RUCKMAN was born June 7, 1930, to William M. and Esther ALBERTSON RUCKMAN Sr. He married Pamela A. MOONEY Oct. 14, 1961. She died Dec. 30, 2014.

Mr. RUCKMAN attended Ottumwa High School.

He worked for Milwaukee and Burlington Railroad, retiring as a conductor in 1991 from Burlington Northern Railroad.

Mr. RUCKMAN served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War (sic - Korean Conflict).

Survivors include: sons, Scott (Lori) RUCKMAN of Omaha, Nebraska, and Shawn (Beth) RUCKMAN of Fairfield; and three grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: his parents; and sister, Joan RUCKMAN.
