Margaret JoAnn WILLIS

Margaret JoAnn WILLIS, age 81, of Libertyville, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 24th at Jefferson County Health Center.

Services will be held at First Lutheran Church on Monday February 27th at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Greg Friedrich officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 Sunday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Interment of cremains will be at New Sweden Lutheran Cemetery, north of Lockridge.

Memorials may be made to New Sweden Lutheran Church or to the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield.

JoAnn was born December 28, 1935, on the family farm near Lockridge, Iowa to Ralph Osmer and Mae Margaret CRAFF SMITH.

JoAnn met the love of her life, Jim WILLIS in Lockridge, Iowa. They were married on March 6, 1955, at the New Sweden Lutheran Church. The couple lived briefly in Hannibal, MO before returning to Jefferson County.

JoAnn worked for 40 years in the Automobile Department of the Treasurer's office before retiring with her husband in 1997. During her retirement she loved spending time with Jim and restoring antique Farmall tractors. Together they loved car rides, traveling and attending their grandchildren and great grandchildren activities (sic). They celebrated 57 years of marriage before Jim passed away on October 19, 2012.

JoAnn will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, gifted sewing, love of gardening and yard work. She found joy in working and doing for others. She was an active 61 year member of the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield.

JoAnn is survived by her daughters, Patricia and husband Dennis BISGARD of Chariton, IA; Jacqueline and husband Tim PACHA of Fairfield; 5 grandchildren: Kelly (Jason) KENT of Williamsburg, Corey (Lori) BISGARD of Ankeny, Cole (Chandra) BISGARD of Waukee, Brent (Whitney) PACHA of Richland and Brittany PACHA and fiance Heath BECKMAN of Ankeny. 7 great grandchildren: Macy, Carter, Nolan, Emma, Lucas, Addilyn and Lauren. Sisters: Delores HISEL of Cloquet, MN, sisters-in-law Norma WILLIS and Donna MILLER of Hannibal, MO and Esther BROWN of Tupelo, Mississippi and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, step-mother Elsie RUPE (sic - RUPP) SMITH and brother Paul Ross SMITH.

Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
