Margaret Rose Ardussi
December 16, 2004Margaret Rose Ardussi, 63, of Belcamp, Md., and formerly of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at her home.
A private memorial was held in Germantown, Md. The body was cremated. Plans are pending for interment of cremains.
Peaceful Alternatives division of Evans Funeral Home of Forest Hill, Md., was in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Ardussi was born in Toledo, Ohio, and was reared in Texas, Virginia, New York, New Jersey and Issaquah, Wash. She earned a bachelor's degree in art from the University of Washington in 1964 and a master's degree in painting from the University of California at Berkeley in 1967. She taught art at the high school and college levels in California, then completed a Transcendental Meditation teacher training course in 1970 in Estes Park, Colo. She established and operated a Transcendental Meditation center in Bellevue, Wash., teaching the technique to more than 700 people from 1973-1977.
She then moved to Fairfield and taught art at Maharishi University of Management while pursuing a master's degree in fine art at the University of Iowa. She discontinued teaching and studies after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1980.
Survivors include her life partner, Cynthia Yockey of Belcamp; one sister, Mary Ardussi of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and one brother John Ardussi of Leawood, Kan.
