Donald Eugene WAGLER Sr.

Donald eugene WAGLER Sr., 82, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 1027, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA).

A celebration of life will be held at a time to be announced July 22 at Elliott Chapel in New London, with Ted Horn officiating. Burial will be in North Walker Cemetery, rural Burlington (note: in Des Moines Co., IA).

A memorial has been established.

Mr. WAGLER was born July 21, 1934, in Burlington, the son of Arthur E. and Marcelle Adaline WALKER WAGLER. He married Betty Lorraine WOOD Sept. 20, 1952, in Burlington.

He attended Hunters Country School at Burlington and Danville Schools.

He was a truck driver, working at Benner Tea, McAllister Seed, Oberman Trucking, Farm Service, and Middletown Mills. He was a union member of Teamsters 218. He raised horses and cows and enjoyed working on the farm.

Survivors include: his wife, Betty; four sons, Donald E. Jr. (Carol) of New London, Dennis (Brenda) of Rolla, Missouri., (sic) Rob (April) of Mount Union, Daryn of Fairfield; one daughter, Deanne (Jim) GRABER of Eldridge; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; four sisters; Gladys OBERMAN, Burlington; Betty Carol WALLMAN, Yarmouth; Linda WAGLER, Keosauqua; Kathie LOYD, New London; and one brother, Mark, Fort Madison.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: two sons, Rusty and Randy; and one brother, Tony WAGLER.

The memorial service for Mr. Donald E. WAGLER, 82, of Fairfield, who died February 9, 2017 will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Mr. Ted Horn will officiate with inurnment being held in North Walker Cemetery, rural Burlington. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of the service. A memorial has been established.
