Stanley Robert SLOAN

Stanley Robert SLOAN, 46, of Knoxville, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

The funeral service was this afternoon at Cranston Family Funeral Home in Eldon. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery near Eldon (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

Mr. SLOAN was born Sept. 8, 1970, in Ottumwa, son of Harold and Dora SANER SLOAN. He married Mari Kenna THOMPSON in October 2004.

Mr. SLOAN was a jack-of-all-trades. He spent over 30 years as a truck and semi driver, most recently with Goff Trucking.

Mr. SLOAN loved spending time with his sons and attending monster truck rallies and demolition derbies. He also liked playing cards, dice, or pool with friends. He was a prankster as well as a caring man.

Survivors include: his wife of Knoxville; three sons, Ryun THOMPSON, Robert SLOAN, and RJ SLOAN, all of Knoxville; his foster mother, Debora WHITE of Hereford, Arizona; foster sister, LouAnn BRUSTER of Tombstone, Arizona; foster brother, Robert WHITE of Freeport, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Cheryl SLOAN; and foster father, Richard KELLEY.
