Page 2JOHN H. BOYD DIED THIS MORNING
John H. BOYD, a well known resident of this city, died this morning about seven o'clock at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been for nearly a week for treatment. He had been failing for some time, being a sufferer with dropsy and heart trouble, but his last illness was of but about two weeks duration.
Mr. BOYD was the son of Frank and Elizabeth BOYD and was born in Jefferson county 65 years ago. The greater part of his life has been spent in this county with the exception of nine years when he lived in Kansas and nine years that he has lived with his children in California. The past year he has resided at the home of his daughter Mrs. Dan STOUT in this city.
In early manhood he was united in marriage to Miss Carrie BARR who passed away in California nine years ago last January. To this union were born the following children: Mrs. Dan STOUT of Fairfield; Ernest BOYD of Lake City, Minn.; Willard BOYD of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Wm. PREWITT, Mrs. Russell MORRIS, Los Angeles, Calif. One child, Leonard, died when a babe.
He is also survived by one brother Frank BOYD of north of Fairfield, and three half-brothers: Wm. RAMSEY and Harry RAMSEY of north of Fairfield, and Edward RAMSEY of northwest of Fairfield.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock from the home of his daughter, in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly and the remains will be interred in the Brooks cemetery northwest of Farfield (sic). Many friends will extend their sympathy to the sorrowing family at this time.
