DEATH CLAIMS W. N. GLOTFELTY

Death came Sunday night to a well known Jefferson county farmer and retired Brethren minister.

He is William N. GLOTFELTY, 81, who passed away about 11:30 p.m. at the Jefferson county hospital. He had been in failing health for the past year and seriously ill the past two weeks. He entered the hospital Saturday night.

A retired farmer and stock raiser as well as a minister of the Brethren church, GLOTFELTY spent his entire life in the community in which he lived. His home was located northwest of Libertyville.

Last rites will be Wedneseday at 10:30 a.m. at the Brethren church northwest of Libertyville. Rev. Harley Yates will be in charge and burial will be in the Brethren cemetery nearby. The family requests no flowers.

William N. GLOTFELTY was born July 13, 1869, near Libertyville, the son of the late James and Margaret CUNNINGHAM GLOTFELTY. He was united in marriage on November 25, 1891, to Carrie Belle STEBLETON. The wedding took place at Batavia.

He entered the ministry in 1893, and served as a member of the county board of supervisors for six years.

He is survived by the following children: Floyd, Vernon, Everett and Mrs. I. A. OGDEN, all of the Batavia community; and Mrs. Horace HEDGCOCK, Mt. Morris, Illinois. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and a brother, Ray of Mt. Morris.

He was preceded in death by his wife who died April 8, 1915, his parents and four grandchildren.
