Mrs. CARTER, 68, Dies At Ottumwa

LIBERTYVILLE, IA. -- Mrs. Belvia Ann CARTER, 68, passed away at 10:45 p.m. last night at the Chatfield Nursing home at Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA). She had been in poor health the past four months.

Mrs. CARTER was born Sept. 4, 1885, in Jefferson county, the daughter of Lewis and Leah GLAZE SHIPLER, and had spent all of her life in this community. She was married to William CARTER Feb. 18, 1906, who preceded her Nov. 11, 1918.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Opal FIELDS, Libertyville; one son, Lloyd CARTER, Fairport; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Clora LAUGHLIN, Eldon. Her parents and one brother, Ora SHIPLER, also preceded her.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Campbell Funeral chapel at Batavia with burial at the Brethren cemetery near Batavia.
