November 22, 2004Helen C. Lundquist, 60, of 503 W. Kirkwood Ave., died at 5:35 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with the Rev. Kurt Makower and Keevin Koch officiating. Burial will be in Salina Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Raymond Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established to Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary and Lord's Cupboard of Jefferson County.
Mrs. Lundquist was born Feb. 5, 1944, in Centerville, the daughter of Joseph and Donna Meyers Van Blaricome. She married Edwin E. Lundquist Feb. 10, 1968, in Memphis, Mo.
In her childhood years, her family resided in Pleasant Plain, Ollie and Packwood. She grew up in the Packwood community and graduated from Packwood High School in 1962. She served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
After moving to Fairfield in the mid-1960s, she was employed by Family Cafe, V&M Cafe and Spurgeon's Department Store as a sales clerk. She was manager of the Bargain Box for eight years until her death.
She was a member of the board of directors of Lord's Cupboard and member of Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary.
Mrs. Lundquist attended First Christian Church in Fairfield and Christ United Methodist Church in Douds/Leando.
She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her husband; five children, Misty Sullender and Tim Lundquist, both of Brookfield, Fla., Antony Lundquist of Fairfield, Kathy Scott of Charlotte, N.C., and Randy Lundquist of Monroe, N.C.; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Claudette Norris of Eldon and Phyllis Dozier of Mesa, Ariz.; and two brothers, John Van Blaricome of Fairfield and Stanley Van Blaricome of Lockridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
