Connie Mae DAVIS

Connie Mae DAVIS, 78, of Eldon died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

As were her wishes, the body has been cremated. A memorial service was at 1 p.m. today at Eldon Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Eldon Christian Church. Friends can sign the guestbook at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.

Cranston Family Funeral Home in Eldon assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. DAVIS was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Henry Jay and Marion Madeline RANDALL CHRISTY. She was raised by Madeline RANDALL and Everett Leroy COLLINS. She married Kenenth Wayne DAVIS of Kingsport, Tennessee, who was also serving in the Air Force, Jan. 22, 1960, in Weisbaden, Germany.

Mrs. DAVIS graduated from Cardinal High School in 1956. She served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1959 and was stationed in Weisbaden, Germany. Following her military service, she worked for the Department of Defense in many different locations, including Germany, Japan, and the Pentagon.

After her husband's retirement from the Air Force, he became a civilian government employee for the Army. He was offered a job in Germany and the family lived there.

Mrs. DAVIS loved her family, her church, crafts, cooking and music.

Survivors include: her husband, Kenny DAVIS; two sons, Troy DAVIS of Eldon and Terry DAVIS and wife Tammy of Greeley, Colorado; one daughter, Tammy HOPKINS and husband James of Winder, Georgia; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one granddaughter; and one infant son, Nathan.
