He had complained of a pain in his side earlier in the day but that seemed to grow better towatrd (sic) evening. He was able to go out in the yard and look after his chickens only a short time before the Death Angel came.

The shock was so great his aged wife is nearly prostrated.

He came to Iowa over half a century ago and made the trip overland in a wagon. He has been a resident of Buchanan township ever since.

Mr. McCORMICK is survived by his wife and six children, who are as follows: Mrs. Mary DAVIS, 205 E. Briggs street, Fairfield; Mrs. R. T. McCLAIN, 500 West Broadway, Fairfield; Mrs. Charles WHITHAM, of west of Fairfield; Mrs. Dallas GREEN and Frank McCORMICK of Beckwith and Scott McCORMICK of Glendale.
