Carol EHRET

Carol EHRET, 74, of Eldon died at 8:52 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Hospice House in Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

The funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon, with the Rev. David Albert officiating. The body will be cremated after the service.

Visitation, with family present, will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties.

Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. EHRET was born Sept. 1, 1942, in Fairfield, the daughter of Lonnie and Jaunita (sic - Juanita) STONE BROWN.

A graduate of Troy High School, she had lived in Fairfield and for a short time in Florida after her reitrement before moving back to Eldon.

She had worked as a nurse's aide and at the Dexter foundry in Fairfield for more than 15 years before retiring in 2002.

She enjoyed watching football, especially the Pittsburg Steelers. She also enjoyed NASCAR and was a Jeff Gordon fan. She took yearly road trips with her sisters and loved to cook and bake.

Survivors include: three sons, Mitch ELDER and wife Tina of Valley Falls, Kansas, Chris ELDER and wife Jennifer of Washington, and Jim ELDER and wife Cindy of Eldon; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her mother, Juanita STONE of Fairfield; and seven siblings, Shirley WHITE of Milton, Roberta LUDWICK of Warsaw, Illinois, Lon STONE of Woodburn, Cindy BROWN of Keosauqua, Kathy HUMBLE of Agency, Charlie STONE of Batavia, and Harley STONE of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by: one son, Tony ELDER; her father, Lonnie STONE; and one sister, Esther GOODWIN.
