Laurine J. ARMETTA

Laurine J. ARMETTA, 90, of Rock Island, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center in Moline, Illinois.

A Mass of Christian burial was this morning at Sacred Heart Church, Rock Island. Burial was at National Cemetery, Rock Island.

Memorials can be made to Sacred Heart Church, Jordan Catholic School or Alleman High School. Condolences can be left at www.RaffertyFunerals.com.

Rafferty Funeral Home in Moline is assisting with arrangements.

Mrs. ARMETTA was born Dec. 19, 1925, in rural Jefferson County, the daughter of Paul and Pauline KREGOSKI PECK. She married Salvatore "Sam" ARMETTA Nov. 23, 1946, in East Pleasant Plain. He died March 16, 1984.

Mrs. ARMETTA was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She loved dancing. She was the founder and coach for the Rock Island Girls Softball.

Survivors include her children, Nancy QUBECK and husband Steve of Waynesborough, Tennessee, Mike ARMETTA and wife Darci of Davenport, Frank ARMETTA and wife Cathy of Mahomet, Illinois, Tony ARMETTA and wife Kim of Rock Island, Cindy TOMASELLO of Addison, Illinois, Pam LETOURNEAU and husband Steve of Dallas, Texas, Mark ARMETTA and wife Theresa of Coal Valley and Pat ARMETTA and wife Angela of Houston, Texas; 28 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise FORBES of Muscatine; and one brother, Bill PECK of East Pleasant Plain.

She was preceded in death by: one daughter, Theresa CAIN; and one son, Tom ARMETTA.
