BATAVIA -- Russell G. FITE, 87, of Batavia, died Dec. 1, 2002, at his home.
He was born June 20, 1915, in Davis County to Jerome and Dora Belle McCLEARY FITE.
He was raised and educated in Davis County, moving to Batavia in 1947. He had worked for Creek Oil Co., Batavia, for 40 years. He was a former member of the Bethlehem Christian Church, near Floris, and Open Bible Church, Ottumwa.
He is survived by a sister, Neva TEETER of Agency.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, his twin Robert and Irvine; five sisters, Lela HARRISON, Margaret ADAMS, Allene PAGETT, Lorene GOODWIN and Wilma CREEK.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gospel Lighthouse Church, Batavia, with Rev. Richard Friend officiating. Interment will be at Batavia Cemetery.
Visitation will begin noon today (Tuesday) at the church with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Randy Creek, Rick Bennett, Kerry Boling, Larry Parker, Jess Manley, Ernie Fite
A memorial fund has been established.
Kremer Funeral Home, Eldon, is in charge of arrangements.
