Rosetta Joy PARCELL

Rosetta Joy PARCELL, 86, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pittsburg Cemetery in Pittsburg (note: in Van Buren Co., IA), with officiating by Sheila PARCELL-SMITH and words of comfort by Wes Greenfield.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Doug PARCELL, 2177 Cedar Ave., Batavia 52533. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.behnerfh.com.

Mrs. PARCELL was born Jan. 12, 1930, in Birmingham, the daughter of C. Lloyd and Lela Cordelia CHANNEL GREENFIELD. She married Glenn F. PARCELL July 1, 1955. He died Aug. 13, 1988.

Mrs. PARCELL and her husband owned the Sears catalog store. She was a saleswoman for KMCD and a homemaker.

She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, bowled on a women's bowling league and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She was an avid Hawkeye basketball and Chicago Bulls fan. Most important to her was spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include: four children, Sheila PARCELL-SMITH and husband LeRoy of Fairfield, Randall PARCELL and wife Lynne of Winterset, Michael PARCELL and wife Renee of Fairfield, and Douglas PARCELL and wife Brenda of Batavia; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles GREENFIELD of Las Vegas, Nevada.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; one daughter, Linda GARRISON; and one brother Donel GREENFIELD.
