Barbara 'Barb' Jean MYERS

Barbara "Barb" Jean MYERS age 83 of Fairfield passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Jefferson County Health Center, Fairfield, Iowa.

Visitation for family & friends will be 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home.

Memorial Service will be 10:30 am, Monday, August 29, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Friedrich officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.

Memorials can be made to Fairfield Babe Ruth or Fairfield Little League Association. Cards and memorials can be mailed to: Lizzie HELMICK, 621 North Hwy. 1, Birmingham, IA 52535.

Barb was born March 10, 1933 to Charles and Zella (NOTT) BLAKELEY in Fairfield, Iowa. She married Virgil MYERS October 12, 1952. This year they would have celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Barb a lifelong resident of Fairfield. She was wonderful mother and grandmother. Barb enjoyed playing cards and working crossword puzzles. At Christmas time she and the grandkids would bake Christmas cookies. Each child had a specific job. The most important was being able to spend time with her family and going to her grandchildren and great grandchildren activities.

Barb is survived by her husband, Virgil MYERS of Fairfield, IA; two sons, Michael (Sue) MYERS of Albia, Iowa and Lonnie MYERS of Fairfield, IA; one daughter-in-law, Lee Ann MYERS; 9 grandchildren, Mark (Lisa) MYERS, Dan (Karen) MYERS, Katie (Bruce) POTTS, Chris (Bianca) MYERS, Andrew (Caylene) MYERS, Phillip (Jodi) MYERS, Jonathan, Lizzie (Brandon) HELMICK and Kassie (Ryan) MYERS; and 15 great grandchildren, Jordan, Quinton, Andrew, Taylor, Davin, Erica, Gantz, Corbin, Mackenzi, Alexandra, Benjamin, Zella, Lean, Ayden and Maizie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Zella BLAKELEY; one son, Chuck MYERS; grandparents, William and Susie NOTT; two brothers, Everett and William BLAKELEY; and one sister, Doris CARLSON.
