Bobby James CHRISTNER, 61, of Eldon, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at his home.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Eldon Assembly of God Church in Eldon, with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Iowaville Cemetery (note: in Wapello Co., IA).
Visitation began at noon today at Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.

Mr. CHRISTNER was born Feb. 10, 1955, in Iowa City, the son of Benjamin and Ella Mae POOL CHRISTNER. He married Carla HEMM in 2002 at the Silver Dollar City Church in Branson, Missouri.
His early years were often spent on his grandparent's farm near Fairfield. He attended school in Fairfield. He attended the automotive collision technichan program at Indian Hills Community College.
He served in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in August of 1974.
He was a delivery driver at Airgas in Fairfield. He retired in 2005.
He and his wife enjoyed their camping trips to Branson and the Iowa State Fair. He had a passion for horses, and enjoyed spending time working with his hands in his shop. He looked forward to morning coffee and fellowship at the church with his friends.
He was a devoted member of Eldon Assembly of God Church where he taught Bible study.
Survivors include: wife Carla CHRISTNER of Eldon; two sons, Anthony CHRISTNER and wife Dee of Ottumwa, and Timothy HOOPER and wife Christina of Brighton; three daughters, Athena MESSERSCHMITT of Keosauqua, Ashley OLINGER and husband J.D. of Hedrick, and Rebecca HOOPER of Eldon; his mother, Ella CASS and husband Darrell of Fairfield; one brother, Mike CHRISTNER; three sisters, Rose LAMB, Christina LAMB, and Brenda NACHAZEL; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by: his father; and one sister, Priscilla.
