Dorothy Esther CRAWFORD, 89, died at 7:35 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Nelson Nursing Home.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Dave Elmore officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery in Pleasant Plain, Iowa.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Behner Funeral Home.

The family requests memorials to the Fairfield Friends Church or Nelson Nursing Home van fund.

Dorothy was born April 5, 1915, in Mora, Minn., one of 12 siblings, the daughter of William A. and Ella WARD MYERS. She married Charles E. CRAWFORD Sept. 19, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa. Mr. CRAWFORD died Feb. 24, 1988.

Dorothy was a wife and mother of five children. She was a receptionist for Dr. James and a nurse's aide for Jefferson County Hospital. She was a member of the Fairfield Friends Church.

Survivors include her children and their families, Marjory and Willis MULLIKIN, Charlene and Bert FAIRCHILD and Gene and Karen CRAWFORD, all of Fairfield, Linda and Keith MORGAN of Cairo, Mo., and Melvin and Dorothy CRAWFORD of Houston, Texas. She has 13 grandchildren, Stephen (Janet) MULLIKIN, Carole MULLIKIN, Denise (Arnie) WEIRUP, Diane (Larry) KELLER, Alan (Sheryl) MULLIKIN, Douglas (Peg) FAIRCHILD, Phillip (Hillary) FAIRCHILD, Janet (Brent) DUNBAR, David (Julie) CRAWFORD, Michael (Marilyn) DUNBAR, Jena (Travis) LINKIN, Sean (Nikki) CRAWFORD and Jill (Jim) SILVERS; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 11 siblings, four sisters, Ellen WASHBURN, Faye RIZOR, Mary GILLILAND and Alice GILLILAND, and seven brothers, Louis, Elmore, George, Arch, Lawrence, Hubert and Paul MYERS; one son-in-law, Everett JOHNSON; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Brian KELLER.
