Fayelda Mae "Faye" PETERSON 86 of Fairfield passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at the Word of Life Lutheran Church in Fairfield with Rev. Chris Fiske officiating. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 12:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Word of Life Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
Faye was born on June 25, 1930 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Ira E. & Mae M. PETERS DAVIS. She graduated from Packwood High School in the class of 1947. She was united in marriage to her best friend Darrell E. "Pete" PETERSON on September 6, 1947, in Packwood; they have enjoyed 68 years together. Faye had worked at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield in her early years and was a full time homemaker. She attended Word of Life Lutheran Church in Fairfield.
Faye greeted everyone with a warm welcoming smile. She loved life and embraced everyday (sic) with an upbeat and positive attitude. Faye enjoyed countless hours of crossword puzzles, cooking; car rides that took them all over the countryside and time with her family that was filled with love and laughter.
She is survived by her husband Pete; her children Julia (David) GLUECK and Karen (Roger) VORHIES; her grandchildren Chad PETERSON, Crystal (Shae) McCABE, Ryan REINIER, and Spencer VORHIES; along with her great grandchildren Peyton and Cael McCABE.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents and her son Douglas E. PETERSON.
