Evelyn J. 'Joy' ROBERTS

Evelyn J. "Joy" ROBERTS, 79, of rural Mount Sterling, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Keosauqua Health Care Center (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Graveside interment of cremains will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Harness Cemetery in Mount Sterling, with the Rev. Bill Shewmaker and the Rev. Larry Smith officiating.

Visitation, with family present, will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Memorials to Harness Cemetery can be left at the funeral home, the cemetery or mailed to the family at 10218 East State Highway 47, Cadet, Missouri 63630.

Mrs. ROBERTS was born Feb. 7, 1937, near Mount Sterling, the daughter of James and Ellen BENNETT LANCASTER. She married Roy ROBERTS Jan. 1, 1956, at Mount Sterling Methodist Church. He died Sept. 9, 2011.

Mrs. ROBERTS grew up in Mount Sterling and graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1955.

She was a member of Concord Christian Church in Concord, Illinois, and most recently attended Mount Sterling Community Church.

She was a member of the Mount Sterling Betterment, Mount Sterling Pool Team and MUMM's Children's After School Program.

She loved to garden, do jigsaw puzzles and crafts. Her greatest enjoyment was attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She was known for the caramel corn she made every winter.

Survivors include: two daughters, Pam DINKELMAN and husband Wally of Irvington, Illinois, and Carolyn BONE and husband Kraig of Old Mines, Missouri, four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Barb CRAIG of Keosauqua; and one brother, Joe LANCASTER of Viola, Illinois.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: one son, Gregory ROBERTS.
