Death of Jesse MULKINS.

Sunday, Oct. 20th, at his home near this city, occurred the death of Jesse MULKINS. For sevral (sic) years past he has been a sufferer from diabetes, but was only confined to his bed a few days. He was a man between 45 and 50 years of age, was born and raised in Jefferson county. After growing to manhood he spent some years in the West and returned to Jefferson county a few years ago to again make his home. He leaves a wife and one child and four step children to mourn his loss.

He was known as an upright and honest man, was a kind husband and good father and known as an obliging neighbor.

Funeral arrangements have been delayed, awaiting a message from relatives in St. Anthony, Idaho.

Obituary.

Jesse E., son of the late Kellogg and Jeannette MULKINS, was born March 15th, 1868, and grew to manhood about four miles northeast of Fairfield. He was a man of good habits, kind and affectionate, a good citizen and a member of the Christian church. The afflictions of this life, from which he was a great sufferer, caused his death October 20th. He was married to Mrs. Nora B. SWITZER (sic - Linora Belle EDWARDS SWITZER) December 23d, 1903, and a son was born to them, now three years old. He was also a father to three children of his wife by a former marriage. They, with three brothers, two sisters, neighbors and friends, mourn his death. Funeral services were held at the Christian church, conducted by Elder Wheeler of Keosauqua.

Note: Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, in Lot Old.P.105. His wife Linorah died in 1956 and was buried in Switzer Cemetery with her first husband, Frank.
