Denise NELSON

RICHLAND - E. Denise NELSON, 64, of 205 E. Main St. died at 6:41 a.m. July 9, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines (note: in Polk Co., IA).

She was born September 16, 1951 to Leonard D. and Marilyn CLINGAN ANDEWAY. She married John NELSON on September 16, 2005.

A graduate of Pekin High School in 1969, she was a Loan Processor for Midwest One Bank in Fairfield for 12 years and a Loan Officer for Libertyville Savings Bank in Fairfield for 3 years, retiring in 2013.

Denise enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, gardening and most of all, spending time with her grandkids.

Surviving is her husband, John; her father, Leonard ANDEWAY of Richland; children, Adam (Karen) STAFFORD of Fairfield, Rebecca (Matt) WEAVER of Richland, Rachel SHOEMAKER (Jamie McGuire) of Richland, Brad (Rachell) NELSON of St. Charles, IA, Stacie (Matt) McKINNEY of Pleasant Hill and Vicki (Brian) LEWIS of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Spencer PETERMAN, Ashton, Lathyn and Cowen WEAVER, Morgan and Sydney NELSON, Lexi, Nash, and Sadie McKINNEY, Jonathan (Leigh Ann) LEWIS, Eric LEWIS and Crystal (Javan) CROWE; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Jeff (Mary) ANDEWAY of Hedrick and Kelly ANDEWAY of Rubio; a sister, Suzanne ANDEWAY of Boston, MA; step-father, Bill CHMELAR.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn CHMELAR and step-mother Chloe ANDEWAY.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ollie Baptist Church with Pastors Gary Reeves and Terry Derby officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery in Richland (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
