LaVelle Nadean RIDGWAY, 83, of Fairfield, died Sunday, May 29, 2016, at her home in Fairfield.
In accordance with her wishes, the body has been cremated. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gospel Lighthouse Church in Batavia, with the Rev. Randy Sweeney officiating. A private burial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. RIDGWAY was born June 16, 1932, in Batavia, the daughter of George and Opal MAIRET. She married Rex RIDGWAY in 1955. He died April 22, 1986.
Mrs. RIDGWAY lived in Jefferson County all of her life. She graduated from Batavia High School with the Class of 1951.
She worked at Fairfield Glove Company for more than 30 years.
Her passions were playing guitar at church, tending to her flowers, and gardening. She also enjoyed spending lots of time with her family.
Survivors include: one son, Rodger RIDGWAY and wife Deb of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one daughter, Judy SIMMONS and husband Craig of Birmingham; one grandchild; and two sisters, Margie MAIRET of Fairfield and Juanita JONES of Ottumwa.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Darlene LEAHY and Rosie MAIRET; and one brother, Roscoe WEBB.
