Joseph 'Merl' BRADSHAW

Joseph "Merl" BRADSHAW, 90, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Peoples Church of Batavia, with the Rev. Jack Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Batavia Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials can be made to Peoples Church or Batavia Community Center. Cards and memorials can be mailed to 604 W. Jefferson Ave., Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.behnerfh.com.

Mr. BRADSHAW was born Oct. 1, 1925, the son of Joseph and Sylvia LAWRENCE BRADSHAW. He married Ila Mae CRAWFORD Feb. 5, 1971, at Peoples Church.

Mr. BRADSHAW lived all his life in Jefferson County.

He was an active charter member of Peoples Church.

He was a carpenter, painter and farmer. After retiring from farming, he continued making his daily trip to the farm where he spent many hours working.

Mr. BRADSHAW enjoyed hunting, trapping, mushrooming and fishing. He loved to tease people and laugh at their reactions.

Survivors include: his wife, Ila Mae BRADSHAW.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and three sisters, Margerie DOUD, Dotty MAJOR and Marie BRADSHAW.
