Tanner N. THARP

Tanner N. THARP, 29, of West Des Moines and formerly of Douds, died Monday, April 4, 2016.

The funeral was held 11 a.m. Saturday at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. Cremation followed the funeral. Private burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines (note: in Polk Co., IA).

Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel in Des Moines assisted the family.

He grew up in Douds and graduated from Van Buren High School in Keosauqua.

He moved to the West Des Moines area in 2007 and worked for Al Laudenica at Big Al's BBQ and Catering. as well as Biaggis Italian Restaurant.

He was currently enrolled at La' James International.

He loved the outdoors where he worked with his father in the timber for Hofer Logging as a heavy machine operator, as well as enjoying snowboarding, riding his bicycle and motorcycle, and hunting and fishing.

Survivors include: daughters, Scarlett THARP and Alivia McINTOSH; father, Paul HOFER; and siblings, Joshua HOFER, Autumn CONRAD, Paul HOFER III, Alyisa GIRE, Chelsie HARDEE and Brittany THARP.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Angela HOFER.
