Linda J. MADDY

Linda Jean. MADDY (sic), 69, of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, April 1, 2016, at her home.

Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will at (sic) 11 a.m. Friday at the Kingdom Hall in Ottumwa, with Elder Cary Weichman officiating. A private, family burial will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery, in Washington, Iowa (note: in Washington Co., IA).

Friends can sign the register book from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel of Mt. Pleasant. Online condolences can be left at www.olsonpowell.com.

Memorials can be donated to Jehovah's Witness through www.jw.org.

Mrs. MADDY was born Aug. 31, 1946, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Kathel CRAWFORD WHITE. She married Harry John MILLER. He died March 21, 1971.

She was a graduate of Washington High School.

She was a resident of Mt. Pleasant for over 40 years.

She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and loved teaching the Bible to others. She was a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed shopping and a cup of coffee with friends. Her big heart was evident in the many acts of kindness she did for others. She loved her dog, Nilla, and treasured the time the two of them spent walking together.

Survivors include: two daughters, Deana DE JONG and husband Mark of Oskaloosa and Jennifer FISH and husband Bradley of Fort Madison; one son, Luke MADDY and wife Danita of Fairfield; six grandchildren; two brothers, Rick WHITE of California and Ron WHITE of Illinois; and two sisters, Sherry LLOYD of Arizona and Tammy WAGNER of Illinois.

In addition to her first husband, Harry, she was preceded in death by her parents.
