Arlene Rose PECH

Arlene Rose PECH, 86, of Fairfield, died Friday, March 11, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

A funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

A Christian Wake will be 5:30 p.m. today at the church, with visitation from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials can be made to ALS Association. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Roxanne HICKENBOTTOM, 1686 Old Highway 34, Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.behnerfh.com.

Mrs. PECH was born July 3, 1929, in Muscatine, the daughter of Albert and Evelyn KOEPPING VAN DYKE. She married David PECH Nov. 9, 1947, in Muscatine(.)

She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1947.

Mrs. PECH was a homemaker.

She was an active member of St Mary Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, crossword puzzles and traveling. She liked working with flowers and watching birds. Spending time with family and friends meant the most to her.

Survivors include: her husband; five daughters, Jane MILLER of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Sharlyn PECH of Oak Park, Illinois, Roxanne HICKENBOTTOM and husband Steve of Fairfield, Jeanette PECH-TIMMERMAN and husband Tom of Columbia, Missouri, and LeAnn FREDRICKSON of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Kathryn KRUSE, Wilma KELLER, Ralph VAN DYKE, Scott VAN DYKE and Marsha WILSON.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one son, William PECH; one sister, Janet STALKFLEET; and one brother, Roy VAN DYKE.
