Helen M. MOEHLE

Helen M. MOEHLE, 79, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Stockport, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at her home in Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co.,IA).

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery (also in Henry Co., IA).

Friends can call after 2 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.

Mrs. MOEHLE was born July 18, 1936, in Salem, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas McKinley and Lena Marie WATSON WILLIS. She married Lewis "Orlo" MOEHLE April 4, 1953, at Pleasant Hill Church.

Mrs. MOEHLE graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. She helped her husband on the family farm in rural Stockport, worked at the Stockport Mini Mart and was the manager of the Stockport Café.

Mrs. MOEHLE was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was a former 4-H leader and Girl Scout leader. She had been a member of South Center Club and Band Parents. She served on the Stockport Library Board, Good Samaritans and was United Methodist Women's District treasurer.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and sewing, but, her most joy came from spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include: her husband Orlo MOEHLE of Mt. Pleasant; children, Diane PATRICK of Mt. Bellmead, Texas, James and wife Laura of New London, Norma PANTHER and husband James of Iowa City; son-in-law, Eldon TAEGER of Hillsboro; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; one daughter, Susan TAEGER; one brother Dale WILLIS; one infant sister, Hazel Irene; and one son-in-law, Stephen PATRICK.
